Full Art
A full art card extends the illustration across the entire card face, removing the normal frame and usually adding a textured foil surface.
On a full art card, the artwork bleeds edge to edge instead of sitting inside a framed window. Text, attacks, and HP are overlaid directly on the illustration, and modern full arts typically have an etched, textured foil you can feel with your fingertip.
Full arts debuted in the Black & White era and have been a staple of every set since, covering Pokémon, Supporter cards, and more. Collectors like them because the larger canvas gives illustrators room for dramatic scenes, and they occupy the higher rarity slots of a set. Related but distinct: an alt art is a full-art card with a completely different illustration from the regular version.
