CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) is a grading company with roots in comic books, known for strict standards, clear cases, and competitive pricing.
CGC built its reputation grading comic books before expanding into trading cards, and it has become a serious third option alongside PSA and BGS. CGC Cards grades on a 1–10 scale with Pristine 10 at the very top, and its modern slabs are praised for their crystal-clear cases and clean label design.
CGC often undercuts competitors on price and turnaround, which makes it attractive for bulk submissions and mid-priced cards. The trade-off collectors weigh: identical cards in CGC slabs have historically sold for somewhat less than in PSA slabs, simply because the PSA market is deeper.
