TCG Pocket

Pokémon TCG Pocket is the official mobile app from The Pokémon Company, Creatures, and DeNA, released in October 2024. Players open a couple of free digital packs per day, collect cards with exclusive "immersive" 3D-style artwork, trade, and battle with a simplified 20-card ruleset that plays faster than the tabletop game.

Pocket matters to the paper hobby because it pulled millions of new and lapsed fans back into Pokémon cards — many Pocket players graduate to buying physical packs and singles. It also popularized mechanics like the god pack for a global audience. Note that Pocket cards are digital-only and separate from the physical TCG: sets, rarities, and card pools do not transfer between the two.
