Released in January 2025 as the Scarlet & Violet era's Eevee-themed special set, SV08.5 spent its first year selling out everywhere, and a year and a half later it still barely sits on shelves at normal prices. Here is what is actually in it, and whether chasing it in mid-2026 makes sense.
What Prismatic Evolutions is
Prismatic Evolutions runs to 180 cards including its long secret-rare section, built entirely around Eevee and its nine evolutions. As a special set it follows special-set rules: there are no standard 36-pack booster boxes, and its packs exist only inside Elite Trainer Boxes, booster bundles, tins, Surprise Boxes and premium collections. The set also popularized a collecting layer of its own — Poké Ball and Master Ball reverse patterns, alternate reverse-holo treatments that turned even common cards into miniature chases and made "master set" collecting of this set a genuinely long project.
